"Benny's From Heaven" is a parody on "Penny's Fromm Heaven". Though it was sung by Eddie Jefferson, it has been done by many others before him and has become a part of American Show Business lore. As far as I know, there is no more known about who wrote the parody than about any of the slaves who wrote any of the spirituals.
